From Words and Music (1948), Rodgers and Hart, “Slaughter on Tenth Avenue”. With Gene Kelly and Vera-Ellen.
Oh.
All right. Here comes another Gene gushing episode! My god! This was genius. I read that Gene choreographed this whole dance!! I love Vera-Ellen in this! Her little quirky dance (I think it was called an apache dance or something along those lines). I don’t know. Every little dance set the mood for the whole piece that dialog wasn’t needed! Also Rodgers and Hart’s score is damn beautiful! I has it on my iPod! Everything just fit! And the critics were correct when they said this little number was one of the highlights in the movie. :)
